Ready for a Change? Start with the Windows!
BY CAROL BEATTY, DECORATOR AND WINDOW TREATMENT SPECIALIST, QUIGLEY DRAPERIES
Are you tired of being cooped up? Ready for a change? Start with the windows!
It's been a lo-o-o-ong early spring stuck inside. Those same four walls look pretty boring after looking at them day in and day out. Want to change? Then literally change your outlook. Window treatments frame and change your view of the world.
If you want a new look and privacy, consider adding Silhouette shadings, Pirouette shadings or Allure Transitional Shades. These versatile choices can add daytime semi-privacy and nighttime total privacy. They can also completely retract into the headrail for an open look. Nothing will update a room more than to take down the old blinds and replace with these choices.
Above, with Allure Transitional Shades you enjoy many light control positions while still being able to raise and lower your shades to any level. Below, Pirouette window shadings offer precise light control, from a flood of light to a small sliver.
Above, with beautiful, light diffusing softness during day and complete privacy at night, Silhouette Clearview Shadings also control harsh sun glare. Shown in Originale, Linen Flirt.
If you want to add interest, add fabric drapery, valences, or Roman shades.
Nothing frames a beautiful view more than a wonderful, textured material. Interest can be added with an embroidered pattern or woven texture. Color can be added to an otherwise neutral room. Fullness adds to the soft feeling that complements the hard finishes in many rooms. Add to the comfort of any space by adding fabric to the windows.
Above, embroidered moveable drapery panels add a finished look to Pirouette Window Shadings. Below, white stationary drapery side panels add a softened and heightened look to the Designer Banded Shades beneath.
Below, Roman shades with a peach, dotted stripe adds interest and color to an otherwise neutral room.
If you want a minimalist look, but still want to have some interest, consider Sonnette cellular roller shades. They can take a basic, flat roller shade and turn it into a soft focal point at the windows. The shades roll from the front of the headrail for a more modern look. They have side pockets of air for energy efficiency. There are horizontal tucks in the material for added interest.
Above, before and after, from harsh to beautiful, Sonnette cellular roller shades gently diffuse light.
Sonnette cellular roller shades provide insulation and style. Above, Elan in Farmhouse Red. Below, Highline in Creek Stone, semi-opaque.
All of the shadings and shades shown can also be made with Power View choices for ease of use and convenience.
